At Skin Sanctuary, every new client begins with a consultation designed to look at the full picture: your skin history, your current routine, your lifestyle, and your goals.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatments or rushed recommendations. We believe in building a plan that makes sense for your skin, your life, and the results you want long-term.

Your skin journey starts with understanding — not guessing.

Our process is thorough on purpose. Many of our clients come to us feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, or unsure what their skin actually needs after trying products or treatments that didn’t deliver results. Instead of adding more confusion, we take a step back and start differently.

Your consultation is designed to uncover what’s really going on with your skin so we can create a plan that feels clear, realistic, and effective — not overwhelming or temporary.

This is not a quick skin quiz and a random facial recommendation.

Your first visit at Skin Sanctuary is a 60-minute New Client Skin Consultation designed to help us understand not just what your skin looks like today, but why it may be behaving the way it is. We take a comprehensive approach so your treatment plan is based on more than surface-level symptoms, allowing us to make informed, intentional recommendations from the very beginning.

Before your appointment, you’ll complete an intake form so we can review your concerns, history, medications, lifestyle factors, hormones, stress levels, and long-term goals. We also encourage you to bring your current skincare products or send photos ahead of time, because what you’re using daily, how your skin has responded in the past, and what your day-to-day life looks like all play a role in how your skin functions.

During your consultation, we take the time to review your skin concerns and goals, your current routine and products, internal and external factors like hormones or lifestyle, as well as past treatments and patterns that may be impacting your progress. This allows us to identify what may be helping your skin — and what may be holding it back.

The Consultation

Step 1:

Your first appointment is where the strategy begins.

A parent or legal guardian must complete all required consent forms before treatment. We recommend a parent or guardian attend the initial consultation. If they are unable to attend, a signed consent form must be on file prior to the appointment.

Clients Under 18

Once we fully understand your skin and what may be contributing to your concerns, we begin building your treatment plan with intention. This process combines what we see clinically with what we learn from you during your consultation, allowing us to create a plan that is both effective and realistic for your everyday life.

We assess your current skin condition in detail, looking at concerns like breakouts, inflammation, sensitivity, barrier health, texture, and overall skin function. At the same time, we consider what your skin has been exposed to, including skincare products, treatments, medications, hormones, stress, and daily habits that may be influencing your results.

From there, we determine what needs to happen first. In some cases, that means starting with home care before moving into treatments, while in others it may involve calming inflammation, repairing the barrier, or simplifying an overcomplicated routine. Your plan is always built in phases so your skin can adjust and improve over time, while still keeping your long-term goals in focus.

How We Build Your Treatment Plan

Step 2:

No guessing. No generic recommendations. No unnecessary services.

At Skin Sanctuary, we often begin by optimizing your skincare routine before introducing more advanced treatments. While professional services can absolutely accelerate your results, your daily home care is what supports your skin consistently — and without that foundation, treatments can only do so much.

That’s why we focus on simplifying, correcting, and strengthening your routine first, creating something that works with your skin rather than against it. This may include removing products that are causing irritation, recommending medical-grade skincare better suited to your needs, or creating a routine that is both effective and sustainable.

For many clients, this step alone leads to noticeable improvements and sets the stage for even better long-term results.

Why We Often Start With Home Care First

Step 3:

Because what you do every day matters more than what you do once in a while.

After your consultation, we guide you into the next step based on what your skin needs most. For many clients, this means beginning a more intentional home care routine and returning in 2–4 weeks for a customized facial or corrective treatment once that foundation is in place.

From there, your plan continues to evolve. You’ll start implementing your routine at home while we monitor how your skin responds, paying attention to what improves, what needs adjustment, and what will best support your progress moving forward. As your skin changes, your plan changes with it — because real results come from adapting, not repeating the same approach every time.

What Happens Next

Step 4:

Your consultation is the beginning — not the whole plan.

Going forward, your skin journey is built on continued support, education, and thoughtful adjustments. Some clients come in regularly for corrective treatments, while others focus more on maintenance or occasional check-ins. Every path looks a little different, but the approach remains the same.

We continue to assess your skin, guide your decisions, and refine your plan based on how your skin responds and what changes in your life. Your plan may include ongoing treatments, acne-focused care, barrier repair, advanced services like microneedling, or simple product adjustments when needed.

The goal is never to keep you in unnecessary appointments. The goal is to help your skin improve in a way that is sustainable, realistic, and long-lasting.

What Ongoing Care Looks Like

Step 5:

Real results come from consistency, not a one-time appointment.

A Few Things To Know Before You Book

You don’t need to know exactly what to book, and you don’t need to have a perfect skincare routine before coming in. You also don’t need to feel like your skin is “bad enough” to deserve help.

You simply need a place to start. From there, we’ll guide you through the process, help you understand what your skin needs, and create a plan that feels clear, supportive, and achievable.

If you’re ready to stop guessing and start understanding your skin, your consultation is the first step.
